Friday Night Sew-In!

Ok, so I am going to participate in my first Friday night Sew-in from here.  What joy it will be working to my heart's content with my little cup of tea...and then showing it off on Saturday!  Don't let me do this by myself...sign up and let's do it together!

I would love to see what you do, so post it here first and then there! (Handmade by Heidi)

Anyone wanna dance?

There is no such thing as gratitude unexpressed.
If it is unexpressed, it is plain, old-fashioned ingratitude.

Quote from "Such a Sew and Sew"...and it was appropriate for today's post...

This weekend was very busy for us, I was home with my friend Joyce, who is courageously battling Breast Cancer - and winning I might add...   :) While my sweet husband and my other best friend, Patty and her hubs were at our ranch in the Hill Country...putting in that gorgeous floor I posted here...
We know that the sheetrock is supposed to go on the walls first, but, as the "help factor" would have it, Butch and Patty G. could only come last weekend, so we gladly said YES!

Thank YOU BOTH my wonderful friends... Remember, "Me Casa, YOU Casa"
(I know, but that's how Texans say and spell it...hahahaha)
I don't want to leave out my youngest son...
MR. SUPER COOL RYAN the FIREFIGHTER-
You did a GREAT JOB SON!
THANK YOU!

And, then,
For my man...  Bill, I love you so much.
You have built this house inch by inch, nail by nail and piece by piece.
I don't have words to say how I feel about all you have done for me. This is way too beautiful!

They sent me pics and texts all weekend to keep me up to date and I couldn't have been more thrilled! Here's the results! I haven't seen it in person yet, but I can't wait!

While my sweet friend rested this weekend and the house was quiet, I did get some sewing done...I will post those tonight or tomorrow...and of course, you guessed it...they were gifts for my sweet friends that slaved in the hot "desert temps of 104" this past weekend on behalf of our floor... Patty and Butch!
Have a good Monday everyone!

Swappin'...

After two weekends at home, I am excited at the thought of going to the ranch this weekend! I feel like I have been away for much too long. I hope today slides by quickly so I can get on the road and head west sooner!

If you look close enough, you will see our little ranch pets...the deer come up everytime they hear our truck - because they know we have their favorite - Alfalfa! Bill and I call it "deer dope". :)
That is Babe' and in the distance is Buddy.

NEXT...

Ok, so I joined a block swap group at http://quiltblockswap.blogspot.com/  and have been assigned my first partner - HI VICKY from Florida!  I have to admit, I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to swapping so if any of you out there have any tips for me, I would love to hear them! I think it is so cool to have the chance to have blocks made and sent to you from all over the planet...especially when I see how talented a lot of those ladies are in the swap.

Here is the block I hope to add to...  yayayayay!

Every girl needs a new ironing board cover at one time or the other...and since I didn't want to stop what I was doing to run to Wallyworld, I decided to dig around and see if I could find some material that would work...and as it turns out...this is actually pretty cheerful!
I just took the old one off, pinned it to my fabric, and cut it out...I did not have enough of the floral material to cut the entire length, so I added a bit of yellow to the end (under the iron).
The entire thing took less than an hour to do...and I saved a little time, a LOT of money (Can you go to Wal-Mart and come out with ONE thing??!) and a little gasoline.  YAY to ME!

And finally...

If you know the story of Little Cotton, you will know that she travels everywhere with me...I rarely leave her at home unless it is a quick jaunt to the store...

But she wanted to send all of you her wishes for a great weekend and a little picture of the view she will have at the ranch...

We both hope all of you enjoy the view from where you are this weekend...and remember how much you are loved by your Creator!

Oh Happy Days...

This past weekend, I decided that I would clean out my bedroom closet and although I didn't take any photos before I started, let's just say, I didn't realize/remember we could actually walk into our closet. (there has to be someone else out there like me, right?)  I will take that as a yes.   :)

I have vowed to NEVER let it get that bad again.

Until Christmas.

This year.

(That's where I hide all my presents!)

Here's what my lovely closet looks like now.

I went through and organized photo albums...

I have so many books, that they spill into my closet...maybe I should have a book give-a-way...

I tried to organize our clothes by color...

Look at all that real estate!!!!

Then, when it was all said and done, Bill went to Wal-Mart, and found this great little $15 grill and cooked us dinner!!!

I am going to find another messy closet this week and clean it out too!
Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!

A few years back...3 maybe?

A little over 3 years ago, our little quilt shop grew up. We moved to a larger space and hired more employees. So much has happened in thos...
